5 Weeks to Go!

So, we only have 5 more weeks.. hopefully 4 or less... till baby Allie gets here. Yes, we have finally chosen a name Allie Robins. We are so excited. I can't wait to sleep through the night without having to get up and pee!! I can't wait to walk up a flight of stairs and not be out of breath and I can't wait to see my feet again. My feet have really gotten swollen these last couple of weeks. Dusty took a picture the other night so I will have to post it. I have major kankles!

Lake Powell 2007

Let’s just say it was a whole new experience being big and pregnant! There was no trying to look cute in your new swimsuit, showing off on the wake board or early morning skiing. Just sitting in the boat being a “fat sack”! Yes, that is what they called me the fat sack. There is a new thing this year (don’t think it’s new this year it’s just more popular this year) called wake surfing. I don’t know if any of you have heard of it but it looks really fun. You are off the back of the boat I would say 4ft?? and you have a rope just to help you get up then you try to “catch the wave” and by doing this you can ride the wave behind the boat without a rope. But in order for there to be a big enough wave for you to do this some people put these sacks that are filled with water called “fat sacks” in the back of the boat but since we didn’t have those and we had 2 pregnant women that’s what we were! We had a blast this year at Powell it seemed like we didn’t tube and do the usual stuff. Probably because we had 2 pregnant girls and 2 kids! Taylor is 2 and is so dang cute and Ashley is 2 months old. They are my sister Becca and her husband Doug’s kids. It’s weird to see your family start changing by next year we will have 4 grandkids at Lake Powell. I can’t believe how fast time flies.

CALIFORNIA HERE WE COME

This past weekend we drove all the way to California for our McCuistion family reunion/Grandpa’s 80th birthday. It was so fun to get to see all of the family and spend time with people I haven’t seen in years. We left Thursday afternoon so we could drive all the way Thursday and wake up early Friday to go to the Beach. We had so much fun at the beach. Dusty brought his body board and was in the water from the time we got there till the time we left. He loves it. Plus he found some really cool sunglasses in the water and he was pretty excited about that. After the beach we drove back to Yucipa where my Dad’s house is to get ready for the BBQ. My Aunt Lisa was in charge of reunion and did a fantastic job. I can honestly say I enjoyed every minute of it. We started the reunion with dinner at my Uncle Mike and Aunt Cindy’s house and after dinner watched a movie of Grandpa and Grandma McCuistion at Christmas in their cabin at Lake Arrowhead it was a really touching video to see. It makes you realize how fast life really is. Saturday the boys played basketball at 7:00 while us girls got to sleep in a little bit and get ready for the family pictures that started at 9:00. I think this is the first year in a really long time that we were able to have everyone in the picture. After that we started our drive down memory lane. We drove to all of Grandpa’s old houses that he lived in and got a little history about each place. It was great to learn something that I had never heard before. Then it was off to Lake Arrowhead. It was only a 30 minute drive from the base of the canyon but it was a hard drive for me. It was windy road and I thought a couple of times I was going to have to roll the window down and barf all over the road. But I managed to make it to the top and we were able to see the cabin that Grandpa owned. After that we played on the beach and had lunch then some people went water skiing. Grandpa, remind you is almost 80, skied! He is so amazing. We had the whole dock cheering him on. After that it was off to the ice skating rink where surprisingly everyone seemed to have a blast. Then we made our trek down the mountain, where I still got sick but not as bad, to head to dinner. We ate dinner at the Hometown Buffet (not my favorite place) but it was pretty good. Then after that it was off to see Bourne Ultimatum, which by the way is a god movie I would recommend it to anyone. We got home around 12:30 that night and we were so tired we crashed right when we got home. Sunday, was the next day so we got up and got ready for church we went to Grandpa Ward and after that had dinner at Grandpa and then we left. We didn’t get on the road till 4:00 Utah time which meant we were not going to get home till about 1:00 in the morning. It was a long drive home!! I was so uncomfortable and was just ready to be done. We are so glad we were able to come and enjoy being there with everyone but I am not sure if I will ever travel again when I am 32 weeks pregnant!!.
